As a reminder, I have been VTSing with my smallest class, my Advanced Art group. They are either Juniors or Seniors who have taken all of the other art classes my school offers. The class is super independent, where students generally compose their own projects to complete. The images I am considering for my teacher's choice VTS are:
By Shintaro Ohata
By Banksy
By Edward Hopper
By Moki
Wow, the Bansky image is so conceptual, it would be so interesting to hear your students' interpretation...especially since they are advanced. I wonder what connects they would make between the 3 figures, cool! I also enjoy the first image because it's a little ambiguous and makes you want to examine it closely. The students may be able to give more visual evidence than they would in the Banksy piece.
ReplyDeleteI think any of these images would provoke great conversation with your advanced students. Great levels of ambiguity and provocative themes I'm sure your students would enjoy. Their deceptive simplicity is a strength. I'm sure the students and you would be surprised with the dialogues that would emerge. Can't wait to see which you choose!
